This is the moment you've been waiting for: your Tanzanian safari starts here. You have so much to look forward to and we'll get your trip underway as soon as we give you an introduction to our team and explain what lies ahead.

Busy Arusha is an essential part of safari life here in northern Tanzania and most travelers pass through at some stage. Whether you’re on your way out on safari or here for a little longer, you’ll catch a glimpse of streets filled with energy and color.

Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! When you land at the airport, we will be there to greet you and drive you to your hotel, Gran Melia Arusha. This beautiful hotel is set in lush gardens with stunning views of Mount Meru. Arusha is known as the gateway to Tanzania’s famous national parks. Here, you can relax and unwind after your journey. Enjoy the modern comforts of your hotel, take a walk in the gardens, or have a delicious meal at the restaurant. Arusha offers a mix of vibrant African culture and peaceful natural beauty. Your adventure is just beginning, and you’ll have the evening to rest and get ready for an exciting safari ahead. Tomorrow you will start exploring the wild side of Tanzania!

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Many travelers rate Tarangire among their favorite national parks anywhere in Tanzania. Here in Tarangire, you can look for lions, leopards, and cheetahs. But you won’t have to look hard to see baboons, vervet monkeys, wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and zebras. And you’ll come across elephants and baobabs everywhere, two giants of the African bush. Also an enjoyable part of your Tarangire experience will be the rolling savannah scenery, which includes rivers and low hills. And while it can get busy, crowds of cars will not be a problem here.

Arusha-Tarangire

After a relaxing night, you will leave Arusha and travel to Tarangire National Park. This park is famous for its huge baobab trees and large herds of elephants. As you drive through, you’ll notice the landscape changing—rolling hills, river valleys, and plenty of animals grazing on the open plains. Game drives in Tarangire are great for spotting lions sleeping under trees, giraffes wandering through the grass, and birds of all colors flying overhead. In the late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Malamboi Tented Camp, where you can enjoy a comfortable stay close to nature. Imagine listening to the sounds of wildlife outside your tent as you fall asleep. This is truly a special introduction to Tanzania’s wild beauty!

At Maramboi Tented Camp you’ll stay sheltered beneath palm trees in above-average safari tents that are large and comfortable. Day 3

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara is one of the most underestimated national parks in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Everything you’ll see here is on a different scale, at once compact (this is one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and epic (the Rift Valley escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary). You’ll see plenty of baboons and elephants in the park’s thick evergreen forest, and watch for the tree-climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa. Thanks to the proximity of lake, forest and rock walls, the birdlife will also tease out your inner birder – don’t forget your binoculars.

Lake Manyara

Today, you will explore Lake Manyara National Park. This park is known for its scenic beauty and wide variety of animals. As you drive along the lake, you might spot hippos relaxing in the water and flamingos lining the shore. The park is also home to tree-climbing lions, playful baboons, and many different kinds of birds. The forests, open grasslands, and the edge of the vibrant lake make this a photographer’s paradise. In the evening, you’ll stay at Manyara Secret, a stylish lodge that lets you relax in comfort while enjoying views of the surrounding wilderness. Lake Manyara is a reminder of how diverse and beautiful Tanzania’s landscapes can be.

Day 4

Central Serengeti National Park

It's time for you to get to know the Central Serengeti, one of the most wildlife-rich places in all of East Africa. All three big cats are commonly seen, as are many other animals, and the savannah grasslands interspersed with signature acacia trees is classic safari terrain. It can get busy, but it's a vast area where you can easily find some solitude.

Lake Manyara Np-Central Serengeti

After breakfast, the journey continues toward the famous Serengeti, passing through the cool highlands of Karatu and the dramatic rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Along the way, you’ll get to stop and take pictures of breathtaking views. Entering the Serengeti, you’ll notice miles and miles of open grassland, dotted with animals grazing peacefully. This park is known around the world for its great migration and amazing wildlife, like lions, elephants, and wildebeest. For lunch, you’ll have a picnic surrounded by this spectacular scenery. Tonight, you’ll sleep in a top-rated lodge in the park, giving you a chance to experience the magic of the Serengeti both day and night.

Day 5 & 6

Northern Serengeti National Park

Explore the Northern Serengeti and get to know one of the park's most beautiful corners. Wildlife viewing is excellent all through the year, but that is especially the case whenever the migration passes through. This is also the area of the park that sees the fewest visitors, which means you can enjoy the river, grasslands, rocky scenery and the animals without interruption.

Northern Serengeti

Today, you’ll head further north in the Serengeti to spend the whole day exploring. This is the best place to see the famous great migration, where huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, and antelope cross the mighty Mara River. If you’re lucky, you might witness the exciting river crossing, with animals facing the challenge of fast waters and waiting crocodiles. This is a natural event found nowhere else in the world. You’ll also see predators like lions and cheetahs in action. After a thrilling day, you’ll return to your lodge for a delicious meal, sharing stories and photos of the animals you’ve seen.

Activity Day 6

Northern Serengeti

After breakfast, you’ll set out on another adventure in the northern Serengeti. Your driver-guide will help you spot more amazing wildlife—giraffes nibbling on treetops, zebras running across the plains, and maybe even a pride of lions on the hunt. The highlight is visiting the Mara River again, hoping to catch another glimpse of the wildebeest migration. This area is packed with action, making every moment unforgettable. As the sun sets, you’ll head back to your comfortable tented lodge nearby, where you can relax and look back on another day of once-in-a-lifetime experiences in the African bush.

Central Serengeti

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive, when many animals are most active. The morning light makes the plains shine, perfect for photos. You’ll have one last chance to see the migration in the north before returning to the central Serengeti, which is filled with wildlife all year round. Keep your eyes open for giraffes, impalas, and many beautiful birds along the way. In the afternoon, you’ll arrive at your lodge. Here, you can unwind, have a tasty dinner, and enjoy the sweeping views of the Serengeti as the sun sets. Every day in the Serengeti is unique and full of surprises.

Day 8

Ngorongoro Highlands

Explore the Ngorongoro Highlands, the high-altitude forests that cover the landscape close to Ngorongoro Crater. The climate here is much cooler than elsewhere in northern Tanzania, and the views of craters and mountains can be spectacular. Watch also for wildlife, including lions, buffaloes and even leopards, in the forests.

Serengeti-Ngorongoro Highland

After breakfast, you’ll go on your last game drive in the famous Serengeti. Today is all about soaking up the beauty of these endless plains and watching one more sunrise over the savannah. With a bit of luck, you’ll see some of Tanzania’s most loved animals up close—maybe a sleepy leopard or gentle elephants. Later in the day, you’ll leave the Serengeti and head to your lodge in the Ngorongoro Highlands. Enjoy a peaceful evening, knowing you’ve experienced the heart of the world’s most incredible wildlife region.

Ngorongoro Crater

Today you’ll visit Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most beautiful natural sights in Africa, a place where you’ll experience otherworldly beauty with extraordinary wildlife. Watch as, from above, morning mist rolls up and over the crater rim, and notice how the steep walls suggest a place unlike any other. Down below on the crater floor, explore a lost world preserved in a state of pristine isolation, one that shelters lions and hyenas, elephants and black rhinos, flamingos and golden jackals. There are also forests, hippo-filled lakes, a salt pan and hyena dens, and you’ll never lose the sense that you’ve stumbled into a safari theme park where everything’s wild.

Ngorongoro Crater-Arusha

Today, you’ll visit one of the world’s natural wonders: the Ngorongoro Crater. The view from the top is breathtaking, showing you a huge, green bowl filled with wildlife. Descending into the crater is like stepping into a secret world, with herds of zebras, gazelles, and even the rare black rhino all living together in this beautiful place. As you explore, you’ll see the landscape change from open grasslands to sparkling lakes and patches of forest. After an unforgettable day, you’ll return to Arusha, filled with memories and photos to last a lifetime.
