It's time to begin your safari. Welcome to Tanzania! After we greet you and provide you with the trip briefing, we'll take you out to help you discover why so many people think Tanzania is the best place in Africa to go on safari.

The streets of Arusha are fantastic places for you to learn a little more about local life in a northern Tanzanian city. Apart from the endless fascination of life on these busy streets, there are museums, markets, and a rewarding local food scene for you to experience.

Activity Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! As you arrive in Arusha, the gateway to many of Tanzania's most famous attractions, you’ll immediately notice the city’s friendly atmosphere and the beautiful views of Mount Meru in the distance. Our team will warmly welcome you at the airport and transfer you comfortably to the charming Kahawa House. Here, you can relax after your journey and take in the lush surroundings and peaceful gardens. Arusha is a vibrant place with welcoming locals and a unique blend of African and international cultures. It’s the perfect starting point for your Tanzanian adventure, giving you time to relax and prepare for exciting days ahead. Enjoy a restful night and get ready to explore the amazing wildlife and landscapes Tanzania is famous for!

Kahawa House Mid-Range

Just outside Arusha in a lovely green area with views of Mt Meru, Kahawa House is a terrific place to stay. It combines the convenience of being close to town but you still feel immersed in the northern Tanzanian countryside, with plenty of greenery all around the property. Accommodation is in a nicely decorated country house, there's a pool, and rooms are high standard.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Everything seems to be cast on a grander scale in Tarangire National Park, from the giant baobab trees that bring such personality to the park's landscapes to the massive elephants for which the park is famous. Although a popular place to visit for travelers on safari through northern Tanzania, Tarangire rarely feels crowded, and that becomes even more true the further south you go in the park. Other wildlife to look forward to here includes big cats, zebra, hippo, buffalo, wildebeest and more. If you're really lucky, you might spy the park's transient population of African wild dog.

Activity Day 2

Arusha-Tarangire

Today, your safari adventure really begins as you travel to Tarangire National Park. This park is well known for its giant baobab trees and large herds of elephants, some of the biggest in Africa. As you drive through the park, you’ll see many animals such as giraffes, zebras, and different kinds of antelopes roaming the open savannah. The Tarangire River flows through the park and is a popular spot for animals to come and drink, making it a great place for taking beautiful photos and enjoying the natural beauty of Tanzania. In the evening, you will stay at the comfortable Kitela Lodge, surrounded by rolling hills and scenic landscapes. This peaceful lodge is a wonderful place to relax, reflect on your experiences, and prepare for more adventures.

You'll appreciate the quiet atmosphere at Kitela Lodge, which is near Karatu but set well back from the busy road that connects Lake Manyara National Park with Ngorongoro Crater. Large and nicely furnished tent-rooms with thatched roofs come with mosquito nets, en-suite bathrooms and big views. You can also enjoy the swimming pool and onsite restaurant.

Day 3 & 4

Central Serengeti National Park

It's time for you to get to know the Central Serengeti, one of the most wildlife-rich places in all of East Africa. All three big cats are commonly seen, as are many other animals, and the savannah grasslands interspersed with signature acacia trees is classic safari terrain. It can get busy, but it's a vast area where you can easily find some solitude.

Karatu-Serengeti

After breakfast, you’ll drive from Karatu into the cool hills of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, stop to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Ngorongoro Crater—an ancient wonder full of life. Continue your journey through rich, green highlands before reaching the vast plains of Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is famous for its wide-open grasslands and incredible wildlife. Depending on the season, you might witness the famous migration, where thousands of wildebeest and zebra move across the park in search of fresh grass and water. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch surrounded by this stunning setting. At night, stay in beautiful accommodations within the Serengeti, where you can listen to the distant sounds of wildlife under a sky full of stars.

Serengeti National Park(Full day game drive)

Get ready for another exciting day in the heart of Serengeti National Park. Whether you choose an early morning or late afternoon game drive, or even stay out exploring for the whole day, you are sure to be amazed. The Serengeti is like no other place on earth, home to lions, elephants, cheetahs, and countless herds of animals moving freely across the open plains. Watch playful hippos splash in the water and graceful giraffes munching on treetops. Every moment is filled with adventure as you search for wildlife and admire the endless skies. A picnic lunch in the wild makes this experience even more special. You’ll go to bed tonight filled with memories of Africa’s beauty and the magic of seeing nature in its purest form.

The best views are reserved for the safari tents at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge. The canvas tents (with wood floors) sit high on a hill and each has stunning views out over the famous plains of the central Serengeti where seeing wildlife is always possible. Day 5

Ngorongoro Crater

You never forget the first time you see Ngorongoro Crater from above. Looking out from the rim of this extraordinary volcanic crater is like gazing down upon a lost world of wildlife and astonishing beauty. The drive down into the crater will be just as special, taking you down onto the crater floor where nature rules and no human being may pass the night. You'll spend the best part of a day exploring this remarkable place, seeing its lions, hyenas, black rhinos, elephants, flamingos and so much more. And when it comes time to leave, you'll keep looking back over your shoulder trying to hold these experiences in your memory.

Ngorongoro Crater-Arusha

On your final safari day, you’ll visit one of Africa’s most famous sites, the Ngorongoro Crater. The journey down to the crater floor is an adventure itself, revealing stunning sights at every turn. Inside the crater, you’ll discover an amazing variety of animals, including zebras, wildebeests, and perhaps even the rare black rhino. Over 500 types of birds live here, adding bright colors and songs to the landscape. The crater is like a small world full of life, surrounded by steep, green walls. After exploring this wonderful place and enjoying your last close-up moments with Tanzania’s wildlife, you’ll travel back to Arusha, carrying home unforgettable memories of your safari adventure.
